Join us as we return to beautiful Lake Junaluska for the next AIM Waypoint Retreat
July 28 – Aug 2, 2024
Africa Inland Mission’s Member Care team is delighted to invite you to another Waypoint Retreat – a debriefing event developed for AIM personnel who are on Home Assignment or other leave, transitioning to a new ministry, or looking for a shared time of reflection and renewal.
Held at Lake Junaluska Conference and Retreat Center, Lake Junaluska, NC, the retreat provides a week of reflection, connection, quiet times, good food, and lots of fun – all in a beautiful, lakeside setting.
- Time alone with God in a beautiful, restful environment
- Time to share your experiences and their impact within a small group and individually with a trained debriefer
- Dedicated, age-appropriate debriefing program for children and teens (through grade 12)
- A wide range of recreation options including: Hiking trails, boating, kayaks, mini golf, playgrounds, café, and gift shop
- Based on numbers of children and staff, we hope to offer a “parents’ night out”
Together we’ll explore God’s word as it addresses the topic of rest. Each morning debriefers will guide their small groups through discussions on the topics of Stress and its Impact, Transition, Grief, Loss and Lament, Soul Care, and Goodbyes.
Who is this retreat for?
Active AIM personnel on Home Assignment or other leave, Diaspora workers, and US based members.
- Adult $650 (double occupancy); $850 (single occupancy)
- Child (age 12-17) $400
- Child (age 3-11) $150
Full board. Based on double occupancy in a standard room. For families, larger rooms will be reserved at the same rates. (Larger rooms are limited and will be assigned in order of registration.)
AIM-US believes so strongly in the benefits of this Retreat that we have provided a significant subsidy, bringing the cost to you down to only 60% of the cost of similar quality retreats. Waypoint Retreat fees are also reimbursable from work funds.
From rocking chairs on the front porch to quaint parlors, the Lambuth Inn is just right for guests looking for historic charm and an old-world feel. A renovation in 2018 added modern conveniences while preserving the inn’s historic details and atmosphere. Stroll through the gardens to nearby Inspiration Point to watch the sunset over the lake and mountains. Amenities include coffee makers, flat-screen TVs and free wireless Internet. Elegant lobby and parlors. Access to the Lake Junaluska Fitness Center and seasonal outdoor pool.
The registration deadline for the 2024 retreat has passed. If you are still interested in attending and would like to know if there is any available space, please contact Member Care.
